What is a safe plan?
If you are being abused and need to leave home either now or in the future, then the following checklist may be useful.

My checklist - keep this in a very safe place
However, if you are in danger leave quickly and we will take care of you.

Bank books / cheque books / credit cards / money, including some change for taxis and telephone.
Spare set of keys - home / car / work.
Clothes for you and your children (to last a week).
Benefit books (income support / housing benefit / child benefit, etc).
Identification documents - as many of the following as possible; marriage and birth certificates / court orders / national health numbers / national insurance numbers / passports / driving licence (and registration) / custody documents (if applicable)
- for you and your children.
Medicines and prescriptions for you and your children, including any immunisation records.
Visa / work permit.
Address book and telephone numbers.
Favourite toys and personal items of sentimental value.
House papers - mortgage details / insurance / deeds etc.
Photograph of your abuser to help identify him later.
Make arrangements for any pets.
